Olivia and Simon
All Wild West Racing’s horses are trained by Simon West who trains from the established racing hub of Middleham in North Yorkshire.
Simon is based at Castle Stables in the town, A small yard which means that all his horses receive individual attention with Simon being very much hands-on.
He is assisted by his partner Olivia and a small dedicated team with a vast amount of experience.

Simon holds a dual licence which means that he trains horses for both Flat and Jumps races.
He came to Castle Stables as assistant to The Late Kate Milligan and took over the training licence as Kate’s health deteriorated.
He has had success in both codes. Wild West have enjoyed winners on the flat and over hurdles.
Castle Stables, in the shadow of the iconic Middleham Castle is in a perfect position to access the gallops on Middleham Moor and High Moor where so many top performers have been prepared for major successes over centuries of racing.
There is a sand turnout pen and a walker to ensure that all of each horse’s needs are fully met. Middleham itself is in a good position to have easy access to the major northern tracks.
